A much needed update!

I finally figured out how to upload pictures to my blog again! Blogger is still acting a little weird with me uploading pictures but at least it will put some pictures up. Sorry I have been MIA on this blog! The last 8 weeks have been ridiculously busy. This semester my nursing class has been split up into two rotations. Last week, I finished up my Medical Surgical rotation...somehow surviving and passing with a B. I was really worried throughout the whole rotation because I did awful on the first exam, which meant that I had to fight to keep my test scores above average for the rest of the rotation. The Lord blessed me beyond measure and I passed the rotation. There is absolutely no way that I did it all by myself. I am especially grateful for Priesthood blessings and the fact that I live among so many worthy Priesthood holders. It is so nice to be able to pick up my phone and have a long list of contacts that I can call if I need a Priesthood blessing. This week I started the Mental Health rotation which is supposedly easier than the last rotation. I'm not letting up though because I don't want to get behind at all.

Conveniently enough, I was able to successfully complete the Med-Surg rotation and go home for a few days this last weekend. It was so nice to have a little break from school and spend some time with my family. I didn't take any homework with me and I did my best to just enjoy time with my siblings. My real reason for going home this past weekend was to go to an Idaho Steelheads game with Paden. (Paden is the wonderful guy that I have been spending all of my free time with recently:) It was a great game to watch-the score was close the whole time and the game ended with a shoot out. Even though the Steelheads didn't win, it was still fun!

Anyways, I am back and hopefully will be much better about keeping my blog updated...no promises, but I will try!

Here's to the next 8 weeks!

Picture #1: Paden and I hanging out and playing games with my family.
Picture #2: Lila decided to build a train track on Saturday morning.
Picture #3 & 4: After our last Med-Surg exam on Friday, I celebrated with a few of my best friends from the RN program. I love these girls and I honestly have no idea what I would do without them!!! They have helped me so much and I am grateful for good friends. :)

I Must Have Loved You Before

I haven't heard this song in forever, but I cam across it today and was reminded of how much I love it. Enjoy!

Rough Week

This last week was super rough! I don't mean to complain but I'm being honest. I had my first exam for Medical-Surgical Nursing. I spent all week in Study Groups and studying only to get my tail kicked by the exam. I don't know what happened, but I did awful on it and it is going to be an uphill battle to make it through the rest of this course. I know that I can do it and with Heavenly Father's help it will all work out. Thank goodness the weekend made up for the lack of happiness in my week. This past weekend was great! I am falling hard and fast for a certain someone and I am scared to death. I am scared to get my heart broken-I've never coped well when boyfriends have broken up with me and I don't want to go through that again. I am worried about how the distraction of a relationship would affect my school work. I am just taking things as they go at this point and I don't want to let this guy go. I am letting the Lord take control because I know without a doubt that He is guiding my path. So enough of my dating drama...life is good when we put our faith in the Lord!

Oh life!

Here I am again, avoiding homework that desperately needs to be done. That's pretty much all I've done all weekend, in addition to working in the temple. I now work in the Twin Falls LDS Temple every Saturday and so that takes up a lot of homework. To make up for the missed homework/study time, I have to cut out some of my weekend play time. I keep telling myself that I will be blessed for it and I have no doubt that I will be. It has been good to be in the temple for six hours at a time. I didn't think that I would be a temple worker until I was old, but apparently the Lord had other things in mind. :) I am back in school now and things have been super crazy! We started clinical at the hospital so I drive to Burley twice a week in addition to my other classes and church callings. So far I have manage to have a little bit of a social life. Warning: I'm going to talk about dating now, speaking of social life. :) One thing that has worried me as I've gone on various dates this last semester was that a lot of guys haven't seemed to respect the fact that I am super busy with school and they keep me out until all hours of the night. Well, I realized that there are still guys out there who will respect the fact that I really want to do well in school and must spend a lot of time studying. On Thursday night, I went on a blind date (set up by one of my Nursing instructors:) and I just loved how my date was so considerate that I had school early the next morning. It totally melted my heart to see someone be so considerate of my crazy school schedule. I just loved it and it gave me hope for all the other males in this world! :) Well those are my random thoughts for the night. Still no pictures...I haven't even had time to deal with my camera, so maybe in a few months I'll have some time to mess with that stuff.

The Band Perry - All Your Life

This is one of my new favorites. At first I didn't like The Band Perry, but what can I say? It's growing on me!

Goals

I'm a little late at setting some goals for the New Year. Better late than never though and I've had a lot of time to contemplate what goals I want to set. I just set goals six months ago after my mission but I wanted to add a few since life has changed a bit since I set those goals on my last day as a missionary. Please don't judge me by my goals, they are merely on my blog to help me reflect on throughout the year.

Spiritual
Read the Standard Works using Scripture University schedule.

Read and pray before heading out the door for school-make it a priority!

Physical
Run at least three days a week.

Academic
Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Social
Introduce myself to one new person a week, whether at church, school, etc…
Invite friends over once a month-don't forget to have fun despite school.

Work on the 3 C’s-Don’t COMPARE, COMPLAIN, or CRITICIZE.

Maintain post-mission goals.

As you can see I've divided my goals up into four categories that I felt would help me focus on becoming a more balanced person.

New Camera please?

So I have a sad announcement to make...it looks like I'm in need of a new camera! Sad day! My camera is refusing to upload pictures on my computer or on any other computers that I have tried...hence my lack of blog posts. It's kind of sad, especially since it happened right around Christmas so not enough time to ask for one for Christmas. Maybe in May for my birthday I can ask for one? We'll see if I don't break down before then and get myself a new one. I have about two more weeks left of my Winter Break and then it's back to school for me! I was looking at my schedule for the first 8 weeks of the semester and it is going to be crazy! The only way to survive is going to be a whole lot of prayer. I am hoping to get some pictures up soon so wish me luck as I continue to try. Happy New Year! I love the feeling that comes with a new year, new hope, renewed goals, and a renewed resolve to be a little better!
